The Oral Hygiene Tips You Need to Help Your Child Have a Healthy Smile

Posted .

If you want your child to have the top-notch smile they deserve, then you need to make sure they keep up on oral hygiene. This is important because oral hygiene is vital for strong and healthy teeth and gums as well as for a successful oral health. To help you help your child keep up on oral hygiene, our dentist, Dr. Ed Perdue, has some tips for you. You need to help your child do the following things:

-Brush their teeth twice a day: As they brush, it’s best to use a child’s soft-bristled toothbrush. If they are 2 years old and older, they can use fluoride toothpaste (as long as they don’t swallow it). If they are younger than 2 years old, just use the toothbrush and water.

-Floss their teeth daily: When they floss, it’s best to use a product that is easy to use. That way they can clean their smile without damaging the oral tissues.

-Attend their regular dental checkups every six months: The treatments provided at the checkups are very important. This is because they deeply clean the teeth, strengthen and nourish the smile, and help your child feel more confident and comfortable in the hands of the dentist.
