Our Services

Routine dental cleanings and exams are performed every six months and X-rays are recommended by Dr. Perdue when necessary. Special care is taken to make this experience great for kids.

Dr. Perdue is proud to provide full orthodontic services, including braces, and all interceptive orthodontics or procedures performed at an early age that can eliminate or reduce the need for braces later in life.
Sealants are protective coatings that cover the biting surfaces of back teeth. When applied correctly and properly maintained, sealants will prevent cavities from beginning.

Dr. Perdue uses only tooth-colored fillings to restore cavities. This material has shown to be as strong as silver filling material, with much higher aesthetic value. Using white fillings also eliminates potential concerns of mercury content in silver fillings.
Dentistry For Those With Special Needs
Many children are unable to recieve their dental care in a traditional setting.  Dr. Perdue and his staff have over 20 years of experience treating children with a wide range of medical, physical or emotional challenges.  Dr. Perdue has been on staff at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital for 15 years and there he is able to care for the most complex cases.  His deep belief in serving others allows him to help patients that might otherwise go untreated.  Many area Physicians and Dentists refer patients to Dr. Perdue for his pediatric expertise.

Nitrous oxide versus oral sedation versus hospital dentistry
Kids are dental patients, too. Sometimes they need a little help to get through some dental procedures comfortably. Dr. Perdue is trained to use every available form of sedation to help young or anxious children have a good experience.

Nitrous oxide (goofy gas) is a gas that helps patients relax when breathed through a nose piece. It allows nervous or overly anxious children to cooperate through quick or easy procedures.
Oral or conscious sedation is designed to allow very anxious or special-needs children to receive more difficult or lengthy dental procedures. Patients drink a flavored medicine on an empty stomach, and the result is a safer, more relaxed appointment allowing complex procedures to be completed. Patients are closely monitored during all sedation procedures.

For more complex procedures for patients who are very young, anxious or medically compromised, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital is the only option. Like any medical procedure that physicians might perform, patients are put to sleep, and all work is performed on an outpatient basis.
