Before graduating from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry, Dr. Perdue attended Vanderbilt University from 1983 to 1985 and the University of Alabama from 1985 to 1988, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish. After dental school, Dr. Perdue completed a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia, where he trained in all aspects of oral health care for children, adolescents and people with special needs.
In 2004, Dr. Perdue became board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, an accomplishment reached by only one third of the pediatric dentists in the United States. Board certification consists of an intense written examination and case studies that required eight years of clinical skill to complete.
Dr. Perdue is a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the Tennessee chapter of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the Tennessee chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is past President of the Tennessee Society of Pediatric Dentists. He is a Board Member of the Interfaith Dental Clinic in Nashville, where volunteers serve the working poor.
Dr. Perdue is a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where he is actively involved with the Children's Ministry team. He has been married fourteen years to his wife, Kathy, and they have three children; Meg, Price, and Hall. He enjoys running, cooking, and all sports, especially football. |
